In India horticulture is a popular activity and people love to plant various medicinal plants and decorative plants at their homes to increase the beauty of their homes. Here I would like to talk about the best home gardener i know, he is my brother ravinder.

Since our childhood we have been friends and i have admired him for all the skills he has. He actually wanted to plant trees as it was his hobby and he is a caring person so he would just go and water his plant and see if it has grown a little or not. Since then slowly he became a proper Gardner and he has made a container garden and a kitchen garden in our backyard.

He loves to grow decorative as well as medicinal plants which we use for home remedies. Moreover he also grows vegetable plants and we take tomatoes and onions from his garden. He loves to nurture plants because of his loving nature and he has a lot of patience because of which he has grown so many plants and he has kept them healthy and growing.


1. What kind of plants do people like to grow in their homes?

People like to grow medicinal plants like holy basil and turmeric at home. Moreover people also grow decorative plants like money plants or fishtail palms. They also love to plant container flowers like the rose.

Do people in India like to gift plants?

In family no, but on certain festivals like the festival of light, people give others plants such as roses or Dalia.

Are there many people growing their own vegetables now?

In India organic farming is very popular as people love to eat nutritious vegetables and in India the major occupation of people is farming so they Love to plant vegetables at home.

4 Do you think it's good to let kids learn how to plant?

Yes it is important to teach kids about plantation because through it they will be able to better understand and realise the importance of plants and trees on our planet. They will also learn how important the plants are for our future. Moreover they learn how to foster something and patiently deal with all the problems of the plant for it to grow.

3 What do you think of the job of a farmer?

I believe that farmers have the most important job in our world. If farmers will not grow any crops then we will not have any food on our table and there would be hunger and starvation 
everywhere.

4 What are the differences between traditional and modern agriculture?

Traditional agriculture used a lot of chemicals for increasing the yield and preventing the crops 
from diseases but modern agriculture is shifting towards organic and more environment friendly approach.
